Kiddalou activity books

What makes Kiddalou books different from other activity books for kids?

Most activity books do one thing. A stack of coloring pages, or a set of puzzles, and that's the whole book. Kiddalou books are built as small adventures instead: one theme, explored several different ways.

Our Axolotl Coloring Book is a good example. Along with 50 illustrations to color, kids get 50 fun facts about axolotls, creative challenges, a hidden Lou to find in the artwork, extra activities, and a cut-out diploma to keep. There's also a downloadable bonus: a grown-up scans the QR code printed in the book, and the extra pages arrive by email.

Different books call for different pieces. What stays the same is the approach: something to discover, something to make, and a few small surprises along the way. As Kiddalou grows, that same spirit will extend beyond coloring and activity books into math, writing, fine motor skills, puzzles, reading, and books that help children explore school subjects more deeply. That's what for little minds in motion means to us.

What ages are Kiddalou books and printables for?

Kiddalou is made for kids roughly 4 to 12 years old, with different books and printables designed for different stages within that range.

That's a wide span, so the level changes from title to title. Younger kids may focus on coloring, fine motor practice, simple puzzles, early writing, and listening to facts read aloud. Older kids can take on more challenging math, writing, reading, problem-solving, creative activities, and subject-based content that complements what they are learning at school.

Ages are a guide, not a rule. Each book will show its recommended age range clearly, and you know your child better than the number on a cover does.

What kinds of activities are inside a Kiddalou book?

It depends on the book. In our activity-led titles, the mix can include illustrations to color, real facts tied to the theme, creative challenges, search-and-find elements, puzzles, writing practice, math activities, and exercises that build fine motor skills.

The wider Kiddalou collection is designed to grow beyond activity books too, with reading books for children, both fiction and nonfiction, plus complementary books that help them explore and reinforce school subjects in a more engaging way.

Every Kiddalou activity book also ends with a cut-out diploma to personalize and keep. Each book's page lists exactly what's inside.

Do all Kiddalou activity books include a diploma?

Yes. Every Kiddalou activity book, whatever it is about, closes with a collectible diploma to cut out, personalize, and keep. Children write their own name on it, so the one in their hands is the only one exactly like it.

It is there because finishing something deserves a small ceremony. Some kids hang it on a bedroom wall, some collect the diplomas from every title in a folder, and some hand theirs straight to a grandparent.

Do Kiddalou books help kids learn, or are they just for fun?

Both, and we try not to be heavy-handed about either. Coloring and fine motor activities build coordination and concentration. Facts feed curiosity about real animals, places, science, history, and the world around them. Math, writing, reading, puzzles, and creative challenges can help children practise useful skills in a way that feels different from ordinary schoolwork.

Some future Kiddalou titles will also be created specifically to complement school subjects and help children explore what they are learning in class from another angle. The aim is always the same: useful learning without taking the fun out of it.

Does every Kiddalou book include the same activities?

No. Kiddalou is being built as a growing children's publishing collection, not as a single series with the same format repeated every time. A coloring-led book may combine illustrations, facts, and creative challenges, while another title might focus on math, handwriting, fine motor skills, puzzles, or other kinds of practice.

The collection will also expand into children's reading books, both fiction and nonfiction, as well as complementary books designed to enrich school subjects and help kids explore them in a more playful way.

What carries across the collection is the approach: clear purpose, thoughtful content, age-appropriate challenge, and small details that make children want to keep going. The Books page always shows what's currently available.

How does the bonus content inside Kiddalou books work?

Some Kiddalou books include a downloadable bonus: extra activities that didn't fit between the covers. Inside the book there's a QR code. A parent scans it with a phone or tablet, enters an email address, and we send the files over.

That's the only thing we ask for, and one email per new release is all you'll get from us afterward. The bonus comes with the book: nothing extra to buy, nothing to install.

Buying, formats, and paper

Where can I buy Kiddalou books?

Kiddalou books are sold on Amazon.com, where you can also browse our full author page. Every title on our Books page links straight to its listing, where you can check the current price and the delivery options for your address. Amazon ships to plenty of countries outside the US, though availability and shipping costs vary by destination.

If a book isn't listed on our site, it isn't out yet. We only list titles that are actually available.

What size are Kiddalou books?

It depends on the book. Most Kiddalou activity books fall between 8.5 × 11 inches and 8.5 × 8.5 inches, roomy enough for kids to color comfortably and compact enough to slide into a backpack or a carry-on.

The exact dimensions and page count are listed on each book's Amazon page.

What should my child use to color Kiddalou books?

Dry materials are the safe bet: colored pencils, crayons, and oil pastels all sit beautifully on the page.

We'd steer you away from markers, watercolor, and anything wet. Our books are printed on standard book paper, which is on the thin side, so a marker will often bleed through to the illustration behind it.

If your child has their heart set on markers, slip a spare sheet of paper behind the page they're working on. That's usually enough.

Are Kiddalou books available as ebooks?

The activity books are print only, and they'll stay that way. Coloring, cutting out a diploma, and working through puzzles or school activities don't translate to a screen.

The nonfiction titles we're preparing for older children and for adults will be available as ebooks. They aren't out yet, and we won't put a date on them until we're happy with them. If you'd like to hear when the first one is ready, sign up for our email list.

Free printables and resources

What free printable activities does Kiddalou offer?

Our Free Resources page has a library of printable sheets: coloring pages, word searches, crosswords, mazes, kids' sudoku, writing practice, math activities, and spot the difference.

Download the PDF, print it, and you're set. It's also the easiest way to see how a Kiddalou activity works before buying a book.

Are Kiddalou printables really free?

Yes. Everything on the Free Resources page downloads straight from the page. No account, no email, no watermark across the middle.

The bonus packs that come with our books work differently: those are unlocked with the QR code inside the book, and we ask for an email address so we can send the files. It's the only place we ask for one.

Can I print Kiddalou activities at home?

Yes, that's exactly what they're for. Any home printer will do, in color or black and white, with no special settings.

Every sheet comes in two versions: US Letter and A4. Pick the one that matches the paper in your tray and it prints at full size. No scaling, no cut-off edges, nothing to adjust.

Plain copy paper works fine. For coloring sheets, slightly heavier paper holds up better if your child presses hard, or if they want to use wet materials like markers or watercolor.

Can teachers use Kiddalou printables in the classroom?

Yes. Teachers, homeschooling parents, librarians, and anyone spending an afternoon with a room full of kids are welcome to print our free sheets and hand them out, as many times as they need.

What isn't allowed is selling our files, bundling them into a paid resource, or reposting them as your own work. Print freely, share the page, and please leave the files where they are.

Are Kiddalou books and printables good for travel and quiet time?

That's a lot of what they're made for. An activity book needs no battery, no signal, and no charger, which makes it useful on planes, in the back seat, at restaurants, and during the stretch of afternoon when everyone needs a slower gear.

The printables work well here too: print a handful of pages, slide them into a folder, and you have a screen-free activity kit that weighs almost nothing.

About Kiddalou and Lou

Who is Lou, and why does he show up everywhere?

Lou is a small fox with a big habit of curiosity, and he's the guide to everything Kiddalou. He turns up in the books, on the printables, and around the site, sometimes explaining an activity, sometimes just hiding in the artwork waiting to be spotted.

He stands for the moment a child notices something, wonders about it, and tries it out. Keep discovering, keep playing, keep learning. There's more about him on our About page.

Are new Kiddalou books and free resources on the way?

Yes. Kiddalou started in 2026 and is designed to grow into a broad children's publishing collection for ages 4 to 12. Alongside coloring and activity books, future titles may explore math, writing, fine motor skills, puzzles and pastimes, children's reading in both fiction and nonfiction, and complementary books that enrich the subjects kids are learning at school, with more formats and themes to come as the collection develops.

We'd rather release something we're happy with than fill a catalog quickly. If you'd like to know when a new book lands, join our mailing list. One email per release, and nothing else: no weekly newsletter, no long sequence of reminders.
